Powerboating is one of the Monomoy Yacht Club's most active on-the-water activities. Club members gather for "raft-ups and rendezvous" events on the waters off Chatham, participate in various social events, and access club-sponsored training, as well as a club-specific annual harbor update provided by the Town of Chatham.

Even if you do not own a powerboat, there are opportunities to participate in these activities and learn about powerboating.

Sailing has been at the heart of the Monomoy Yacht Club since its founding in 1937. Sailing offers members opportunities to sail, learn, and socialize together.

Windsong, the club’s 22-foot Cape Dory keel sailboat, is available to  members to take out. If you  are an experienced sailor you can take the boat out on your own with your own crew. If you are learning to sail or brushing up on your skills, you can sign up to sail with an experienced skipper who is another club member.

Additional sailing activities include sailing-specific social events and club-sponsored sailing training in the classroom and on the water.

Monomoy Yacht Club along with Stage Harbor Marine and Stage Harbor Yacht Club, organizes and hosts informal sailboat races in Nantucket Sound.  In addition to owners racing their own boats, MYC members have been crewing.  Races will take place on one of several pre-set courses.  There are many opportunities to learn specifically about sailboat racing.

The Monomoy Yacht Club kayaking program organizes approximately six to eight easy to easy-intermediate, 3 to 5 mile kayak paddles each summer in the bays, ponds, rivers, and streams of Cape Cod.    If you love to kayak, are just learning or want to learn these organized events are for all to enjoy.  Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs, i.e. life-vests) are required equipment to participate.

It's swimming and more!  From June through September, we meet on Monday and Wednesday at 9 am, for 45 minutes to an hour, at Schoolhouse Pond in Chatham.

Swim across the pond if you want, swim laps, float on your back, do water aerobics, work out on your paddleboard, chill out on the shore…whatever works for you. We are developing strength, endurance and friendships, inspiring each other and celebrating the summer.
