ON THE WATER |
Powerboating |
Powerboating is one of the Monomoy Yacht Club's most active on-the-water activities. Club members gather for "raft-ups and rendezvous" events on the waters off Chatham, participate in various social events, and access club-sponsored training, as well as a club-specific annual harbor update provided by the Town of Chatham. Even if you do not own a powerboat, there are opportunities to participate in these activities and learn about powerboating. |

The Ernst W. Dutton Memorial Race The race is named in honor of Ernst W. Dutton, founding Commodore of the Monomoy Yacht Club. We invite all sailboats on the Cape to join us in this memorial race from the Stage Harbor (SH) buoy, just off Harding’s Beach. The races are typically 5 miles long lasting about one hour. If you do not have a PHRF rating, an estimated rating will be assigned before the race. The racing program has grown, not only in the number of boats participating, but also in the number of MYC members who have had the opportunity to crew on racing boats and duty on the committee boat. In addition, several boats from other yacht clubs and Saquatucket harbor have joined us. |
